Well we joined the gym today. I’m pretty happy that we finally did it. The best part is that Liam loved the kids area. I really thought that was going to be a struggle with him, but he happily stayed there while we went on our tour. That really helped to clear a major hurdle for getting to the gym. I hope it continues. Now I need to get my workout schedule together so that I have a plan of action for getting in shape!
Project 365 – Day 109
There are times when you can capture a great moment and it’s 100% genuine. And then there are times when you have to recreate or modify the moment. Today (and almost every day for the past few weeks) Liam has enjoyed “blaster-ing” the bad guys. I told him, “that’s great! Guess what? The camera is a bad guy!!” And you know what? He blasted my camera just the way I wanted him to and got a great shot.
Project 365 – Day 108
Today was a good day. We spent the morning at the Carytown Watermelon Festival where is wasn’t actually melting the sun hot. Then we actually convinced Liam to go to the movies to see Shaun the Sheep, which was quite good I have to say. But before we made it to the movies, I got some of the best news in my professional career. I found out today that one of the photos I submitted in the national monthly Bella Baby contest actually won 1st place!! Out of 188 submissions I won. I can’t believe it. I was so excited about it that I almost forgot to take my photo for today.

Project 365 – Day 106
Liam apparently finds it quite funny when Dad pretends to fall asleep in the middle of reading.
Project 365 – Day 105
I love cloudy days in our house. The light is just so yummy! Liam had a lot of fun pretending that his Batcopter was a spaceship. It’s nice to see some of these old Lego sets making a comeback.
Project 365 – Day 104
There was a very tragic accident involving a Lego “spaceship” and the foyer floor. Thankfully after some consolation he was able to rebuild it (and better than before). Also I still hate my 50mm…
Project 365 – Day 103
I’m still not loving this 50mm. I miss the colors of my regular lens. At least I was able to get some cute shots during bath time tonight.
Project 365 – Day 102
I’m still not liking this lens but that’s to be expected. Hopefully by the end of my 50 days with it, I’ll find a nice appreciation for it again. Or I’ll want to bury it deep down in my camera bag. One of the two.
Liam must have put this puzzle together at least 10 times today. He certain kept him busy and he loved showing me every time he was finished with it. He was just so proud of himself. And because life isn’t all rainbows and unicorns, he also had a pretty nasty bump to the head. Nothing some ice and a few blueberries couldn’t cure though.
Project 365 – Day 101
Today is the first day of my new challenge. 50 days with my 50mm f/1.8. This is going to be more difficult than I thought. It’s very strange to only be able to change the way the framing looks by moving my body. I’ve been spoiled by my zoom lens. One things for sure though, at least 1 person in our family still likes to nap.
