You can’t see it in the picture but Liam has a cape on here. He was pretending to be a super hero while running around the house this afternoon. What a silly kid!

We got our second shipment from Kiwi Crate the other day, but we didn’t have a chance to do any of the crafts until today. I’m really impressed with how far Liam has come with writing. He just needs to get over this hurdle of it looking perfect (I know, I know. He gets it from me.)
The second stop on our weekend trip took us to Luray Caverns. Liam was a little afraid at first (mosty because it was dark), but he warmed up to it and kept leading us around to see everything.
Stephen has been wanting to take Liam up to JMU since he was born. Today, we finally made that trip up. We’re staying over night so that tomorrow we can go to Luray Caverns which neither of us have done before. Looking forward to another fun filled day.
Sometimes you capture a truely candid sweet moment. And then other times you have to create it. While this was a totally staged shot, I still love the way it turned out. Liam loves Monkey and I knew he would get a kick out of reading him a bedtime story.
I had a really long day at work today, but thankfully I was able to catch bed time and get a few snuggles in.
Liam was honing his drawing skills this afternoon. He’s getting pretty good at drawing circles and he even made a triangle. Plus he can write his name now.
Today was rough. I had an unexpected long day at work and my feet (really my whole body) is just sore. But then I get and remember why I started this whole project in the first place. It’s not about capturing the perfect shot. It’s about getting those little moments. I admit that there have been photos that I have taken recently that I have not been excited about, and that’s ok. Not every image is going to be my best or the best moment. But it’s still a moment. When I look back a year or decade from now, I’ll know that this was a moment that I felt was worth cherishing. I’ll look back and I won’t know why today was rough, but I’ll remember this sweet time between my son and husband.
I’m not even sure what is going on with this face, but he sure is silly.
We got the Amazon Fire Stick working on our tv upstairs this afternoon. So we spent the afternoon being lazy watching the Tigers play. Too bad they didn’t win 🙁
